As you are in J, and unless things have changed, the hotel is the Movenpick 5* next door to the airport. Lovely food, great pool area and never really that busy. It's a modern hotel which I have used several times and was the F and J pax layover hotel. Now only J as F has been cut. The Y hotel was a lesser one closer to centre of town, Gulf Gate Hotel I think-never stayed there.

You should get 24 hr Visa, Transfers by car, 3 meals and hotel room. Enjoy and let me know if any of what I've told you has changed. I just did 6 flights with GF but had no layovers on this trip.

Also the hotel has a transfer shuttle 2-3 x a day which is free for hotel guests to the centre of the city / Seef Mall a modern shopping mall you'd find anywhere. Or you can do a half day tour of Bahrain which is inexpensive and intersting for a first timer. Unless you want to sleep you could see mall and do tour in one day.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if the fact you're travelling on points and AA ones at that will effect your eligibility for a GF paid hotel. You would have no problem getting out of airport and paying yourself for the above however on a US passport. 1 Bahraini Dinar = 3.5 USD approx!
