I have a question about FLYON, JGC and family status.

My wife and i live in Japan. She has been Sapphire for several years and got a JAL CLUB-A card last year. I am going to receive mine in a few days.
In one of the posts of this forum, i read that it is possible for family members to receive some of the advantages of the spouse status (lounge access and baggage priority for example).
First of all, is this correct ? And if so, does she also need to be a JGC member ?
As soon as i will receive my JAL CLUB-A card i will register myself as a family member, but i don't know if it's enough to "inherit" her status...
Besides this family status thing, do you think she should become a JGC member anyway ?
