As a homosexual female, I would be most comfortable being patted down by a homosexual male, and I daresay it would make the heterosexual female TSOs more comfortable as well in most cases.
I realize I probably can't ask for the TSO's sexuality, but even in that case I'd rather be patted down by a male.
