Woohoo! First upgrade on Delta!

For all of my whining and moaning about the Request Upgrade boxes not working, some magic pulled through this weekend!

20Nov DL2071 SEA-SLC Requested upgrade during OLCI, informed that I was waitlisted. Still 3 F seats available. At airport, TA advised that I was #5 on the list for those 3 F seats. At the gate, the GA was rather dismissive, stating that no AS upgrades were available as that was a benefit reserved for medallion members only. All 20 F seats went out full.

21Nov DL4487 SLC-SEA Requested upgrade during OLCI and was instantly confirmed into F! At the time, I believe it was F5 V3 (Delta's V bucket is like our U bucket), which allowed for the immediate confirmed upgrade. I selected an aisle seat in row 4. The next morning at the airport I used a kiosk to print my BP and noticed I was assigned a window seat in row 1. Evidently the equipment change from a CRJ-900 to a CRJ-700 meant there were 3 fewer F seats, but I kept my upgrade!

Was my first time in DL F (if you can call a SkyWest RJ "Delta"), and I was pleased to experience a true PDB service as well as the snack basket. If I had known it would only make the rounds once, though, I would have taken more than one item. I thought it would be selfish to take both chips AND candy, but pretty much everyone else did.
