They should be a little used to this Canadian going through there as I do many weekend to Europe trips, and they never blink. I just explain the promotion and they always say...welcome home Smilee

Anyhow YYJ is a small station and you can easily do a 40 minute turn as long as you have only carry on luggage.

As with any customs, have all your documentation if needed, and be honest.

I believe the travelodge is in Sidney which is close to the airport. There is little transportation options to and from the airport so you will need to cab it. The QX crew I think stay at the travelodge if thats the one I am thinking of and they might even have some transportation arranged. If you are not staying in Sidney, I would suggest you book a hotel in Sidney as a cab to downtown is probably $60, where as Sidney is probably about $10 at the most.

It looks like you got in on that low fare first class AA TPA-YYJ fare that was published this fall.
