Is it tacky to offer to "guest someone into a lounge"?

Inspired by Is it tacky to ask to be "guested into a lounge"?

I have on occasion asked seatmates if they would like to visit the lounge, but only if we had been talking and I knew that they were transiting. I still remember a old guy who said he was taking one last trip to BKK. He had never been in a lounge, and I thought it would make it extra special for him. It was the NH C lounge at NRT: one of the nicer C lounges.

While it is probably ok and appreciated in moments like these, how has FTers handled this subject? I still remember a nice girl (seatmate on an ultra long haul) but that didn't happen. I later found out she was in the same connecting terminal (but that didn't have lounges ) but didn't quite manage to ask. Most flights were delayed due to WX that day, but to go get to the lounge involved getting out of security and taking the JFK skytrain.

Asking random people (with connections) disembarking from the same flight probably crosses the line.
