I had stayed twice earlier in the year and did get upgrade but staff still has a NY attitude. Do like the location but count me out for staying there. The nearby Hyatt wins my business, much better.
I had a series of similar experiences at the Sheraton HK a few years ago. Apparently not quite as bad as the experience described above, but enough to make me move all of my HK stays to the Intercontinental across Salisbury Road. The view and the club-level cocktail hour and breakfast are much better, but the attitude of staff is only a marginal improvement over the Sheraton. The Peninsula, across Nathan Road, is near perfection. Of course, both the IC and the Peninsula are far more expensive than the Sheraton.
