By the way, I hardly think the valets you typically encounter at hotels like this are "struggling to make ends meet". I would estimate that they make > $20 per hour, which is a lot more than some others can say these days.

Just to be provocative (now deliberately), let me ask: do you tip the housekeeper, who I would venture to say makes a lot less, has to do a lot more physical work (both at work and home)? Or do you not, because you don't actually see her? She's the one who I think deserves it more...
