It's not just AS, Last month, I had a choice of flying a redeye out of SJC or SFO to MGM. I was trying to squeeze my MQM's so, SJC-LAX-ATL-MGM was better than SFO-ATL-MGM. I did see that the 1st leg was on "American Eagle", but at least it didn't say "AA - Operated by American Eagle"....... I ASSUMED that AE was acting as a Delta Connection carrier, I really can't keep up with all of them.

So I show up at SJC, hauling my toolbox (60lbs), suitcase (60lbs), accessories bag (20", but has my safety harness and additional tools, so it must be checked) and my computer bag. As a Medallion member I get to check 3 bags at 70lbs each.

So I get a little anxious when the CSM at SJC, looks at me and asks "you're flying tonite?" Then aims me at AA in Terminal 1 - a long angry walk with my stuff. Sure enough, AA is MORE than willing to check me in, as soon as I pay $25 for the 1st bag, $35 for the 2nd, $100 for the 3rd and $50 each for the 2 over weight!!! That's only $260 for luggage on a $300 ticket

Talked to the PM line and she said that if I gave the phone to the AA TA she'd ask them to waive the fee (yeah, right, roflmao, after hearing "No", I then left AA Counter). I was a little mad at this point, and asked the PM agent if they could put me on the SFO flight and get me to SFO. "I have no way to get you across the bay". visualize angry walk back to terminal 2 hauling luggage train.......

I played a long shot and spoke with the CSM at Delta again, explained my request and in, oh, 500 milliseconds, she says "Ok, No Problem". Changes my ticket, prints a travel voucher, calls the shuttle company, smiles and hands it all to me. I AM STUNNED! It can't be that easy!!! After staggering outside to wait for the limo, I RUSH back and give both the CSM and other agent 2 of those Job Well Done (or whatever they call them) certificates I never find a use for. THIS is what they're for!

Long story short, made my flight, paid no baggage fees, met some AWESOME Delta employees.......made note to self, Don't fly AA....... SJC CSM, ^
