The NYTimes had called out a politician here in New York a few years back (New York state being full of crooked politicians) that instead of taking the train from NYC to Albany was flying almost everyday on USAir from LGA to DCA (on the shuttle) and then to ALB. It seemed that he was doing it to accue enough EQMs to earn Chairman Status on USAir. His reasoning for the additional cost and time was that the train was too noisey.
