Being Canadian-born to Scottish parents (& all primary relatives are still on that side of The Pond) I must admit I have a healthy appetite for most, but not all, Scottish delicacies. In the three-day visit I'll probably get my "fix" of real haggis (there's now a family "do" on the Sunday so some will probably be served), blood pudding (form of sausage), steak-&-kidney pie, & time/stomach permitting a good helping of fish-n-chips wrapped in newspaper (smothered in salt & malt vinegar) from the local "chippie".

Yup, fully aware of it, have had it 'cuz one of my cousins always has it when I order my "fish supper", & I admit that it falls in my "but not all" category noted above. Seems to appeal to the next-younger generation.

Ahhh, I can smell the food now. Now this is why a reverse mileage run (aka airmiles redemption) can be just as fun as a mileage run ~ no sane person would just go the UK (or other transatlantic/transpacific destination) for the weekend just for the heck of it!
