Not that you're passing that way but the FRA duty-free shops seem to offer some savings. at least on certain items. I've compared the price of Asbach-Uralt (a brandy made in the Rheingau area) and found the 1.0 l bottle price in the FRA duty-free shop comparable to the 0.7 l bottles sold in German discount shops (which in turn is about 10% cheaper than full tariff). I think the 1.0l ran around C$16-17 in the duty-free shop. The price in B.C. is $34 for a 0.75 l bottle.
