I got a call from AA asking me if I wanted to change my flight from a connection to a non stop (the $49 change). Since I want more time in Miami before I leave for GIG I took them up on the offer.

I asked about preserving my upgrade from the date of request (the TA said the F cabin had seven open seats on the direct flight.) She said it could be done and she would have the EXP desk do the entry.

Once I get the confirmation of the new flight, I should call the EXP desk to make sure the upgrade is still based upon the original date of request. But does anyone have personal experience with this.
