If a person is not able to stand, even before the AIT, they could not go through the WTMD, and would receive the full pat down. It covered all the areas that the standard pat down now covers. So those people will not notice a difference.
If someone in a wheelchair can stand and walk, but not hold the position, they will go through the WTMD, and if no alarm, no pat down.
Just so you know.
Unless, of course, if that person is "randomly" selected for additional screening.
