That flies in the face of this:
AFGE Calls on TSA to Protect Employees, Educate the Public on New Pat-Down Procedures: The American Federation of Government Employees is calling on the Transportation Security Administration to issue educational pamphlets to airline passengers as they enter security to inform them of the new, more aggressive pat-down procedures so the passengers know what to expect. AFGE is concerned that some travelers who may be surprised when they undergo the new pat-down procedure will react in an agitated manner. A TSO in Indianapolis, for example, was punched by an angry passenger who thought the new search was too intrusive.

“AFGE agrees that strong security measures need to be in place and evolve as threats come anew, but the general public needs to know what the security procedures are and what their rights are as citizens,” AFGE President John Gage said. “TSA must do a better job explaining these measures to the flying public. This absence of information has resulted in a backlash against the character and professionalism of TSOs based on a few widely reported but largely ill-founded claims repeated over and over again by the media.”

Gage said that like all Americans, TSOs deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as they go about the business of defending against those who seek to harm this country and its citizens.
