It's theft... pure and simple. What's sad is that AA, every other airline, the private companies previously contracting with the airlines, and those watching the cameras overlooking the baggage handlers these days didn't do anything about it before this.

Why are you pointing out the obvious but irrelevant? Who cares about odds? It's binary in my humble opinion. The plane flies or it doesn't, and I don't like the idea of some schmuck tipping the odds the wrong way because he wants to buy an extra beer at the bar or a lottery ticket on the way home from work without his wife finding out about it.
