That is absolutely true with this offer. Great rate, no miles on the transfer, so in order to use the check I would have to put a halt to about 100 transactions/month on this card.

BearX220: That was the same with me, last year. About once a month, I'd get a 4.9% or a 6.9% set of checks. Those went straight into the shredder without a second thought. But the 2.9%...I did a double-take. I could get bullish and dump my whole credit limit into an investment portfolio. I can stay relatively risk-averse and beat 2.9% after-tax soundly. Or I could stay bearish and just dump the rest of my car loan (a 5.1% bank loan) onto the Mastercard. Or I could do nothing and keep earning AA miles...
