Hi Charlotte

Nairobi airport suxs for everything including food, so it is wise to want to leave. But there is TRAFFIC. If you are arriving on a weeknight, then to get from the airport to the city at 7:30 pm will take anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the weather, the time of the month, where the President is moving to, where the Prime Minister is moving to, etc.

However there are two hotels with restaurants located before the first round about to town (where the traffic is). One is called Panari Hotel, which is so so, and the second is Ole Sereni (http://www.ole-serenihotel.com/) which I have not been to, but have heard great reviews for. Either of these two would be your best bet.

Also note that at 7:00pm there are several European arrivals, so immigration can be busy (allow up to half an hour to clear).

Good luck and enjoy Nairobi.
