That's one of the problems. The number of people required would be prohibitive. Even we had the money to pay them, the qualified people (even by TSA standards

Spending the additional $5-10billion per year required would save how many lives? Pardon the reality check, but if it's not at least 1000 lives saved per year, it's not worth it. Since there's no way such security would save so many lives, the money would be better spent elsewhere. Spend the money hiring police officers and you could probably save far more lives. How about traffic safety? Disease research? Implementing Israeli-style airport security, IMO, would be tantamount to deciding to kill people for the appearance of security, a most extreme and disturbing exercise in security theater.
