received a snail mail offer yesterday to convert mr miles and then receive a 30% ba bonus if done before the end of the year.

i have not seen an evaluation of this deal here...is there any reason not to take this bonus if i want to get rid of my "old" mr miles to have them sit in a ba exec club account where they can easily be converted to aa miles...or am i missing a catch here?

there is some fine print about costing 0.0006 a point with a maximum fee of $99 to convert points to an american carrier...but from my position i am happy to close out the amex and stop paying the annual fee on that card and not be forced to use the miles...am i missing a downside or a better opportunity elsewhere? thanks.
