I have been following this thread and am a bit confused.

I recently booked AAward travel 70K miles per ticket)

jfk-lax in J, lax-ogg in F

returning lih-lax in F, lax-jfk in J

A) My research here has found that would one would NOT have access to the Admirals club in LAX. Isnt this true?

B) I am very surprised that many of you downplay the food and service in J and F. But may I ask, what are these observations RELATIVE to? relative to service in US Air, etc? to what?
