I have been trying to redeem my AAdvantage miles for a 1.5 one-way trip in business class from the US to Japan. I prefer to fly on JL. However, AA reps over the phone has tried real hard to steer me towards AA flights. The rep even admitted that seats were available on both airlines on the two dates I gave her. However, she kept saying that the AA flight is "better" than the JL flight. Is this normal?
