I'm kind of surprised that there's not been really *anyone* at least that I saw, talking about jumping ship from the UA/CO hybrid to US. There's a fair amount of overlap here in the midatlantic; I can understand jumping from UA to AA if you're based in Chicago, but with the ton of UA elites at IAD, I'm surprised not to see them defect to US at DCA. Not that I consider IAD at all a fair trade to DCA; while IAD does have tatl flights, it's also all the way down I-66 which is a horrible trek for a DCA person. But that's a digression.
At any rate, I'm thankful for the bad reputation that US has, and for all the UA and CO elites that won't be flying with US. It's too bad that US has to miss out on all that potential revenue, and I think a lot of the changes that US is making will eventually lure some folks back (cleaner cabins, the stellar new Envoy Suites, better food, the return of glassware, etc). But I am also very happy to not have to compete with a whole 'nother batch of new top-tier elites. Between free silver promo's stacked with HSJ, double PQM promos, and a herd of displaced UA/CO folks, I think those of us who actually sit on US planes a lot and have done so for years would feel pretty unloved when the upgrade percentages started plummeting.
