You need to look at the change fees carefully but if this is reflected in the ex-UK fares and the price is similar, there will typically be more 'I' inventory to change to, rather than hunting for CW award inventory on the new day(s) you want.
I am seeing something rather different when I try to book WT+ MFUd to CW ex USA. If I try a straight cash booking I am getting pretty decent T fares. When I go through book and upgrade I get fully flexible W with no change fees at almost 3 times the price! Oh, and more upgrade availability than I have ever seen! I think there may be changes coming....
