Good point. I was mostly just addressing the incredible value that some folks seem to place on free breakfast -- for me it's a nice benefit but not essential, but for others it seems to be the only thing they care about.
That 750 point option is an interesting point of comparison, though. Assuming you choose point amenities every time, a HH Diamond would need to stay 34 times at a HGI before the amenities added up to a free HGI night (assuming Cat3, which most seem to be).
In contrast, a HGP Diamond staying at Hyatt Place would get the 5000 points necessary for a Cat1 HP stay in just ten stays -- and continental breakfast to boot.
