I would do it for several reasons.

Will the miles expire from that family member's account, soon?

Will your own miles expire soon?

What plans do you have to use these miles? Paying $330 for 22,500 miles might be considered a good deal, if you would redeem them and others for an expensive ticket. For example, mainland to Hawaii for 40,000 round trip (at the "low" redemption level) which is typically worth $700 or more.
