Yeah, I just did the donation thing the other day to keep some activity on the books. Was surprised to see a minimum req of 1000 miles, as I believe I did this a couple of years ago and there was no minimum then. Didn't wanna take time to find a cheaper solution, so just clicked off 1000 miles to remain legal.
