Thanks Academic- I don't usually have a problem getting seats Europe-NA as I have a Lufthansa HON circle membership- so as long as there are revenue seats available I can get a seat in business or economy (there is only First service to Canada in the summer months anyway with the exception of Montreal)- and with companion awards it is only 180K miles for two with the LH program (which is easy to accumulate as you get 200% miles flown in business and 300% miles flown in first).
The business class inter-asia was a great idea as it was easy to find space, and TG in business is very nice- also the tickets are quite expensive.
