I've found NY State prices to be lowest in the world for some good quality Swiss watches; both Manhattan and in Poughkeepsie (particularly good for low-end Rolex as IBM gave them out for 25 year service and many have been pawned/sold -- doesn't help you much). Still it keeps the prices lower for all watches as there is ample supply of alternatives. I've seen NY prices 50% lower than in Zurich for example.
