Rumor has it that for United's 85th anniversary next year there will be a 757 repainted into a retro scheme that is to be voted on by employees. The winner should be announced in December.
The liveries are:
1934 design that debuted with Boeing 247D and when company was known as United Air Lines
1946 dark blue and white livery from DC-4s when simply United was adopted
1950/1960 light blue stripe design.
1970s "Friend Ship" design with 4-stars on tail that debuted on the DC-10
The 1974 red, orange, blue stripes, Saul Bass livery and the first to feature the Tulip.
Why don't they just do them all?!? They all look great, but I'm holding out for the Rainbow! I so want to see the Rainbow scheme fly again!
