Onboard - J cabin:
crew was good, can't remember the details but the guy serving us was super happy and very attentive. Think the food was ok, i had an omelette. Personally i'm never thrilled with that - think it needs ketchup or something - but for airplane omelettes it was fine.
IFE was on most of the time - ground/air

Pre departure
YYC around departure time we were told that the plane was hit by a fueling truck and there would be a 2 hour delay - I actually sent a complete update to ac.com but the ground crew was very good - they brought our the non-alcoholic drinks from the plane and gave us snacks
There were multiple updates which was excellent, we also got food vouchers
The delay was 5 hours

Onboard - J cabin:
The crew was good, professional, very apologetic
Don't think any beverages were offered on the ground, but i think we were all so keen to get off the ground no one noticed.

Was the IFE activated on the ground?
no IFE - old plane

Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)?
think this was done once we were in the air, but we might have got the menus prior to takeoff

Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service?
yup

Did the cabin crew continiously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight?
yes

service seemed fine, IFE didn't use it
Note here:
priority bags weren't recognized, one priority bag came out in the first lot of bags, then a group of priority bags came out
think it took about 20 minutes for the first lot of bags to come out, maybe another 10 for the priority bags

The guy in Y (think he was the one making the announcements) was incredibly happy (a good thing) and he seemed to be through the cabin bringing water and drinks by.

priority bags came out first! and reasonably quickly too - not what i expect from pearson, which is nice
