Valid points but BW hotels can be found in the U.S. The OP specifically said
"I am trying to focus upcoming stays (in the U.S.) on one brand..."

Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, Adagio, IBIS, All Seasons, Etap, Formule 1, Hotel F1,
Motel 6,
Suite 6, Accor Thalassa, Hotel Barriere, Orbis
With the very few Sofitels in the U.S. the OP would be relegated to staying at Motel 6 for his/her U.S. stays.
