Since we are differing on the interpretation of the conslusion (as opposed to the differing on the conclusion itself) what is crucial information and what isn't is relative to that interpretation. I am claiming that the conclusion is an existential one of showing a scenario where America West is a better choice on a "real" route (and hence the comparisions no longer just theoretical) while you appear to be interpreting the conclusion as a universal assertion of being a better choice in every scenario on that route.
