I agree with JALPak -- try to get up front.

If traveling alone, I'd go for 1A, then another front #A.

I usually travel with one or two kids. In the past, the CAs have asked me to move to the back section of C. It was a win-win situation -- the other pax in the front didn't have to deal with my daughter and we got a CA all to ourselves (only two other people in the back). I suspect they may do this on most flights.

Oh, yeah--when traveling with my kids, we usually get the middle section. My son loves to kick seats...
