Hmmm ... Are you sure you are on a 4 class 744? Qantas don't sell 4 classes BNE/LAX.

Can you get a seat map on www.qantas.com/yourbooking using the "select seats" option?

Or, perhaps, www.checkmytrip.com* ?

If so, what row does it show economy as starting from.

Previous posts indicate that the 4-class 744 is operating to BNE in a triangle (SYD-LAX-BNE-LAX-SYD).
