MAA is an easy airport to transit it (no DEL T3), but the INTL/DOM terminals are a 5 min walk apart at max, so compared to the bus rides at BOM, its a pleasant transit. The connection is quite long though - 3 hours almost each way if you take the officially permitted connection...
Plus now MH has a day time departure - granted on a crappy 738 with domestic type seats, but it avoids the overnight flight... also has a morning return from KUL so with 11 flights a week - I would suggest flying direct...
