Now, understand Pistole's position, he can't exactly go into the fetal position on this. I know I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on this, but there could very well be something in the works to back down for everyone, but he can't exactly just change things overnight or over a weekend. Remember this strip-search machine initiative pre-dates his entry in the TSA. And since dollars go to Chertoff on this, there's another hurdle to clear.
I found this comment from Pistole at the end
of an article on MSNBC.com to be interesting:
Pistole mentioned several forthcoming reforms for so-called trusted travelers, Freeman said.
"Our country desperately needs a long-term vision for aviation security screening rather than an endless reaction to yesterday's threat," he said.
Again, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this and eagerly await what he means by that comment. I just hope it's not the Clear regurgitation he's referring to.
