Everybody relax. I'm sure you know that NJ Governor Chris Christie is something of a fiscal conservative. He recently killed railroad tunnel from NJ to NYC because he was concerned about cost overruns being borne entirely by the state of NJ.
Maybe Christie and the FAA could agree to make the southbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike the new runway at peak periods.
This would bring a new meaning to the concept of HOV lanes...

But how would the HOV lanes work? If a CO flight to BOS, for example, has much less people than usual, because people are now flying B6, would that CO flight be turned away by the cops for trying to land in the HOV runway??
