Neither Etihad nor Emirates are members of *A, but you can earn award miles (but not status miles) with some *A partners (e.g. flights operated by EK earn miles with UA MP).

I´d route through FRA and continue on to Abu Dhabi with LH if you want to maximize (status) miles for your trip.
