From my observations, more often than not, if you can find a award seat on an airline site, you can use some other partner's miles to book that seat.

Sure. But let the OP search for a CO flight on CO's site first. If the OP is unable to book it with UA miles,
then we can start talking about possible exclusive availability or some other explanations.
