You lose space and get a flat packing surface. I'm not as concerned with the space as the bullet proof constuction and warranty. I have beat the he'll outbof some B&R bags. Bouncing them up and down steps and so forth. For years and I have been top tier or second tier on two airlines for 15 years or so. Some of those B&R bags have been used for years and years of heavy use with no problems whatsoever.

Thanks gadget. So B&R is better than Victorinox? - carry ons I am referring to.
