IC Hong Kong Grand Stanford

[QUOTE=nicolas75;15096456]Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, incredibly so.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a Harbor View on corporate rate (dirt cheap) and received instant confirmation to Harbor View Suite. I love this hotel because you can get 2 doubles in a suite. Extended my stay and came in one night earlier - same rate, benefits and room.

How are the rooms?
They are dated, but they also have a beautiful (although slightly skewed) view of the Island side skyline. It's lovely to wake up to a full water view from your bed, completely unobstructed.
Quite large, it is pretty much the size of two normal hotel rooms, so approximately 800 square feet
Small dining table with 4 chairs
Sofa
Normal 27" tube TV's (REALLY??!!) in both Bedroom and Living Room
One normal bathroom with bidet off master, and one half bathroom off entrance. No separate shower.
Bedroom with desk and very very comfortable beds.
Superb view over the water and HK Island skyline - but expect it to be skewed (you cannot see the IFC, for example)
Elemis amenities in bathroom.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not receive. They did say it was newly renovated and that 700HKD per night was standard (for two people), and was also the discount for Ambassador members. As was stated before, the normal upgrade is to the room type booked + club, or suite + no club. They gave me the suite because my room rate already included breakfast, internet and local phone calls.

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Superb upgrade.
I like this location - though it can be quite a trek to the TST red line station.
Awesome front desk staff, great housekeeping and turndown service
The views are amazing and the hotel feels homey and comfortable.

Bad
Very dated furniture, this place is showing its age
CRT TVs!
No separate shower
Minibar has very few hard liquor suggestions...smirnoff is undrinkable
Pool has no view despite being on top floor, its walled in.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I paid $1400HKD (approx $200) and it is definitely a value here in HK, esp with the upgrade. I haven't stayed at the IC Hong Kong yet, but for the price, this place is soooo worth it.
