When I got to the rebooking stand I was told it was very unlikely we'd be on the next flight so it would be 5:15 p.m. before we left DTW. I told her we'd lose a day of our trip and I'd have the hotel and rental car fees for nothing. Asked if she could get us out the next morning (which she could) but then thought we could fly into Raleigh. It would mean more driving but we'd rearrange our plans because we were at the airport and ready to being our adventure. I also asked for First if she could.
She booked us on a 1:50 to Raleigh in First.
Here are my question:
I paid extra for the DTW-CLT-RDU-DTW ticket to save time with driving. We ended up DTW-RDU-RDU-DTW. Delta offered $100 voucher for future travel due to the maintenance problem but nothing for the difference of routing. In the past, when we've had changes because of maintenance we've received vouchers for full ticket. Is the $100 voucher the norm? Just wondering. . .
You should be pleased. Last time I was stranded in LGA because the flight from CHI had a huge delay. What did DL say?
ACT OF GOD. TOO BAD FOR YOU!
I had to spend $200 on a hotel but was booked on the first LGA-BOS the next day.
