Given that it would take a vast number of trips on DL to get anything approaching an award ticket here, I'm wondering whether this relatively short hop might be better served by flying WN if you can get the times on their nonstops to work. 7 or 8 R/Ts= a free ticket on WN versus 7 or 8000 DL SkyPesos, depending on whether you buy Business Select or another fare class. Actually, w/o DL status, the mileage accrual would be less. Sometimes, for situations like this, WN turns out to deliver more bang for the buck. You can then continue to accrue on AA for the ELP trips. I'd note that DTW-ELP on DL isn't very convenient; I believe you'd have to route DTW-SLC-ELP, or even worse, DTW-ATL-ELP with ATL-ELP being mostly on CR9s.
