That's right most deep discount AA fares have the following text:

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">NOTE - TICKET HAS NO VALUE UNLESS PASSENGER CANCELS TICKETED FLIGHT RESERVATIONS PRIOR TO TICKETED DEPARTURE TIME.</font>
A no-show can be very expensive.
