I'm staying with friends in a regional city in far north UK. One is BA CC.

He arrived back into T5 from one of the Zone 4 destinations on time, but the weather was miserable, it was on a remote stand and they had to deal with a wheelchair. This meant that by the time he was off duty, he was going to miss his flight back home to XXX. But fortunately it was showing as running 45 minutes late, presumably due to the weather.

But the woman at check-in was not interested, said there was nothing she could do, he had missed conformance wrt to the scheduled departure time. My friend was in his CC uniform with a confirmed staff travel ticket. He implored the woman - his colleague after all - to no avail.

Fortunately there was a well groomed chap at another desk. My friend sashayed across to him to establish the mutual connection, explained the situation to him, was issued a boarding pass without fuss, and made the flight home.

Which was good for me because he was waiting to greet me when I arrived on the Caledonian Sleeper (great way to travel up from London) earlier this morning!
