In August, I was on AA137 LHR-LAX in 31J (didn't get upgraded for the first time in 5 years... sigh! ) the FAs would not give me a free drink, and the purser said there were no free drinks for EXPs. At the time, I felt that this was adding insult to injury to have to pay $6 for beer, esp. as my ticket had cost >$2400 for a r/t SFO-NBO.
