I am booking a vacation package via Expedia to South America. Flights are on DL. I know I will get the confirmation number for the flight itinerary portion to access via DL site.

Will the record show me the option for a seat upgrade(s) or premium seat selection once I access the itinerary via DL? Or does that only work if you buy tickets directly via DL online? I will select seats via Expedia. Can I select premium seats via Expedia?

We will both be on same record but I'm only one with access to upgrade requests.
