frank_10b, do some research on this forum about breakfast, there is a thread here that lists properties that offer platinum elite breakfast.
Sounds like you don't encounter the 'breakfast coupon in lieu of closed lounge' unwritten bennie, -- however, as I have been fortunate enough to receive these coupons, but in no way do I come to 'expect' them from an SPG property!
(However, as a Hyatt Diamond, -- it is a published benefit for that chain!)^
