If you will fly enough next year to maintain Silver (starting with no rollover) then I would go for Gold.
If not, then hang short -- two years of Silver is better than one year of Gold and one year of no status.
Or just decide you're borderline insane, like many of the people here (myself included), and MR your way to Gold, or hell, even Plat for both years.
